Erotic Art, That’s What’s Sexy This Week

Erotic art, that’s what sexy this week.

We all know I love art of multiple kinds, but one particular genre of the sexuality kind I truly love, is the erotic. I find it compelling, inviting, thought provoking, and downright sexy. To be inspired by erotic art is the very least I can write, because its a combination of all these elements that help to put a smile on a person’s, and their mind!

Artist’s depictions of erotism have been created for centuries, not just in nude human form, but in some of the unlikeliest. Items found in daily life, the sexy-this-week-erotic-art-melon-lovehome, the streets, renditions dreamt up in the minds of the ingenious. Inventive depictions using fruits and vegetables, found in architecture, items from the beach, or the clouds in the sky.

I think you get the point from my over zealous examples, but this is exactly what erotic art does for me, it stimulates me.

I definitely know I’m not the only one stimulated by erotic art, because if the line up down the street was any indication at this years Boobies and Wieners Erotic Art Show, then stimulation and titillation was what the throngs were in line for. If you’ve never been, then I suggest you keep an eye out for next year’s show. You’ll love the art, and the energy of the folks at the show. Giggling, chatting, sipping on a cocktail or two and possibly buying a piece of art to hang on a wall at home. The art is beautiful, erotic, sexy, and well worth the incentive.

Erotic art isn’t for everyone, and I’m not quite sure why. I prefer to believe its the uncomfortable embarrassment and nothing else, proving my point about stimulation. I remember a school trip to Kleinburg Ontario, the home of the McMichael Art Collection dedicated to the Group of Seven. During this visit an exhibition of nudes from the masters of old were on display, but our classes were not allowed to see them. A decision made by one of our teachers, a rather outspoken religious woman, a decision that didn’t stop me. I snuck away from the group, eager to feast my eyes upon the lusty canvasses denied my eyes, and see what all the fuss was about.

Rounding the corner on the second floor of the gallery while my classmates were bombarded with boredom from the Group of Seven, I was stopped dead in my tracks. A woman in full recline on a red velvet chaise with creme coloured fabrics draping her shoulders, across her torso, trailing down to her feet and across. It was beautiful, the colours, the richness, the decadence, and the casual repose. This is what we were not allowed to see?

Lasting impressions, an imprint I am grateful for because I was caught not to long after for “straying” from the group.

Again, art is truly in the eye of the beholder, I just happen to like mine vivid, beautiful, sexy, and above all erotic. I like stimulation, don’t you?sexy-this-week-erotic-art-canova-nude-recline-pauline-bonaparte

A Playful Flirt and a Giggle

sex-this-week-Playful-Flirt-Giggle

A playful flirt and a giggle, that’s what’s sexy this week.

Human interaction is super important, interaction of the positive kind. Forget the stalkers, sleazebags, and despicable low-lifes who truly only deserve a baseball bat upside the head for a little tune-up. No I’m talking about the attention from playful fun when one is out and about, that comes from innocent friendliness.

Innocent is the key word here, since many interpret these actions as seduction. Misinterpretations made by people who don’t have the skills to know the difference, as it shouldn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

Over a coffee with my girlfriend Brit, a sassy buxom blonde, I sat and listened as she told me of her exploits while on her last holiday. Exploits I realized, are not far off from my own when I’m out in the world. What we also agreed on was the fun that came from a playful compliment, or a flirt. Fun that we both knew wasn’t going to go anywhere except validation as the people we are. Gregarious, life loving gals, who dress-up for every occasion including a trip to the laundry room!

I like a little validation as I’m someone who loves life, and lives it. Again knowing the difference between good and bad validation is something that needs to be taught, an element similar to what I wrote in my previous Sexy This Week, The Art of Casual Conversation with a Stranger . Knowing the difference between the two types, and knowing how to appreciate a good flirt and giggle isn’t hard. However making it hard for folks to be human and show appreciation, is taught and learned behaviour. Behaviour hot on the hysteria that everyone is out to get you and commit something heinous to your well being.

Folks need to lighten up, loosen up and have fun again. Learn that a playful flirt and giggle can a go long way in making a person feel good, love life, and enjoy living it!

Cleavage and Plunging Décolletage, That’s What’s Sexy This Week.

loren_mansfield_Cleavage_Plunging_Décollatage_Sexy_This_Week

The sensuous line and curves the cleavage beholds of the plunging décollatage, that’s what’s sexy this week.

Wikipedia defines Cleavage as the exposed area between a woman’s breasts lying over the sternum, and refers only to what is visible with clothing (or dense, nontransparent body art) that includes a low-cut neckline, the décolletage. Yes, this a shameless ditty about the titty on display, because a little or a lot of objectification can go a long way.

The politically overcorrect usually don’t find my musings of Sexy this Week enlightening, because I certainly hear about it, that’s how I know. Ask me if I care? I don’t, because I’m busy looking at the cleavage of confident, secure women with their décolletage on proud display!

The phrase “tit’s up” according to urban dictionaries originally had a negative definition attached; dead mammals on their backs, tit’s up, a situation gone wrong. However I don’t think most of us have come to define it that way. Rather, a phrase of success!

Successful cleavage always catches the eyes of every beholder, it certainly gets my gaze! After the initial vision is enjoyed, I’m left taking in the total look from top to bottom, and back up again. The décolletage is sensual but above all commanding, and when worn well, I mean with confidence, the amplification is deafening.

Yes we all love the curves, the lines, the skin and comforting softness, maybe that’s what has everyone cautiously looking on, but the women wearing it also know the power a good cleavage can wield. Mothers, aunts, grandmas and a good friend, all know this. Most of us have had our heads and faces delicately smothered by a set of breasts in that nurturing comforting embrace. Hell even I find myself giving a good comforting smother to those in need. Feels good for both of us.

Psycho babble aside, and back to basic human instinct, it’s about the boobs! Women rival over a low neckline, drag queens shade and paint to perfection, and the men…..drool. Love em or leave em, I’m onboard. Tits up, guns out, shoulders back and heads held high……

In the words of author Judy Blume along with and some of my own non-shameless self presentations.

“We must, we must, we must increase our bust.”

His and Her Pedicure for Sexy This Week

sexy-this-week-63-his-and-her-pedicures-1

There’s fun to be had in his and her pedicures. Couples spending time together, enjoying each other’s company, sharing a laugh, or an uncontrolled giggle from a foot massage, and the application of a daring shade of polish on his, and her toes. His and her pedicures that’s what sexy this week.

In today’s age, the so called “modern age” women have been getting pedicures since most of us can remember. However it is noted that it wasn’t until the year 2000 that the pedicure started to grow in popularity. Mostly amongst the women and a few daring men, brave enough to roll up their trousers and show just how much of a man he truly is by letting a complete stranger get to work prettying up those feet and toes.

The Pretty Little Leaf

Pretty Red Little Leaf

The Pretty little leaf is what’s sexy this week!

There I was, shit, showered and shaved, dressed and ready for the day, over my morning anxiety with my “kick ass” attitude dialed in at a level ten as I went out the door to face the day. My clothes perfectly coordinated of complimentary colours, matching jewelry, makeup applied with the precision of surgeon, and my hair all neatly hot-rollered and set. I was ready! With chin held high, shoulders back, tits out, and stomach in, I walked to the bus stop to patiently wait with all the other morning riders.

On the bus, I made myself comfortable for the 15 minute ride to the skytrain reading the morning paper as we rode over the bumps and potholes that dotted the downtown streets of beautiful Vancouver; the city I call home. The bus’s arrival at the skytrain always greats me with a certain amount of irony, its the skytrain, but at this juncture it runs underground. It always gives me a brief moment of contemplation as I descend to the train’s platform quietly crop dusting as I make my way deeper into the ground.

The Male Chest in a Fitted Dress Shirt, That’s Whats Sexy This Week!

I’m not one to shy away from shameless exploitation of the sexes, especially if it’s all in good fun. As we slowly ebb into fall, all those beach bodies on glorious flagrant display are opting to modestly disappear behind the opaque barriers of fabric. With the fall, comes the addition of clothes for the creatures of the beach, setting the stage for a new form of ogling to take place.

The male chest in a well fitted dress shirt, that’s what sexy this week.

I love the cut of a well tailored dress shirt and the way it fits the body. The buttons, the cuffs and collar, yoke, colours and patterns, sewn together to form the garment worn for business, casual, or a hot night out. Well pressed and starched to lay smooth across a well defined chest and dutifully conceal the results of long hours at the gym.

Luscious Legwear, That’s What Sexy This Week

sexy_this_week_Luscious_legwear_1

Luscious legwear in the form of stockings, stay-ups, or pantyhose. Legwear that comes in a multitude of colours, patterns, deniers, and sizes to adorn the appendages of women, and the men that dare. The final accessory to an outfit, to enhance, accentuate, cover and adorn, luscious legwear, that’s what sexy this week.

Leggings and legwear have been worn for ages, by the late great kings and queens, to the courtesans of Europe, the Giesha of Japan, and the stylish of today. Originally made of linen, cotton, wool or silk, they were worn for warmth, but as hemlines rose and legs were exposed, so to did demand. It wasn’t until 1939 when DuPont introduced nylon, an affordable, durable, sheer alternative was born. It wasn’t until 1959 that the pantyhose made their debut and rivalled that of stockings, soon to surpass sales as the new alternative.

Rising even higher hemlines made sure pantyhose stayed on top of sales causing a sharp decline in the sales of stockings, where it has remained to this day, sales only rivalled by the advent of stay-ups.

Soft silky bed sheets draped across a bed, and wrapped around a mattress. Fabrics that come in a multitude of colours and patterns, fibres and thread counts. Sheets to enmesh a nude body for a bit of cooling on a sensuous summer’s eve or warmth for a cold winter’s night. Alone or accompanied, sheets that comfort and soothe a weary body, a tired mind, or a napping babe. Bed sheets that cocoon and protect for watching a good movie or curl up in with a good book. Soft silky bed sheets, that’s what’s sexy this week.

Transgender Day of Remembrance TDOR

Transgender-day-remembrance

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR), also known as the International Transgender Day of Remembrance, is observed annually on November 20 as a day to memorialize those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia and to draw attention to the continued violence endured by the transgender community. However, for many of us it means so much more and in different ways. Transgender Day of Remembrance, that’s what’s important this week.

Fairytales and Castles, That’s What’s Sexy This Week

Rosenborg Castle, Copenhagen, Capital Region of Denmark, Denmark

My family hails from a small but steeped in history country, Denmark, a country of fairytales and castles. Soft rolling hills, green pastures, 1000 year old cities. A country surrounded by bodies of water that cradle this now peaceful land like two gentle hands that meet at the tip top in a place called Skagen. The trip to Skagen is magical as you drive you through countrysides of soft rolling hills, and sand dunes that have a life of their own, that literally eat up the buildings of yesteryear. Creamy white sand reclaiming what man has made returning it to the elements from whence it came. Sexy This week-fairytales-castles-Skagens-sand-engulfed-churchA road trip we took many times through country dotted with architecture and structures from a time gone by. Structures of stone and metal, manors, and castles of grandeur, that for most people can only imagine seeing in their dreams. Dreams that bring to life stories, feelings, and thoughts of hope and the future, fairytales and castles, that’s what sexy this week.
